Project Synopsis
D-Port is a Digital Portal aimed at the music and events industry. It was conceived as a site where various facets of the music industry could come together.
The site allows DJ's, Producers, Event Organisers and Entertainers to create profiles showcasing themselves. Users can search through and view the various profiles, and depending on the user type, there are varous advanced features available.
The site also has subscription management and an online music store, where users can purchase mp3 downloads. Soul Candi is the anchor music sponsor at the moment, but the store is also geared to allow producers and DJ's to sell their own music through the store.

The site uses the following commercial DNN modules :
XMOD, Catalook Store, PagePeel, FatGeorge Custom Template Tags,
The site makes extensive use of XMOD for its functionality.This includes :
- extended user profiles, tied into subscription management via Catalook Store
- custom profile search engine based on profile type (4 different search engines)
- custom image gallery manager and viewer
- events calendar (global, individual and also events manager for user profiles)
- booking request system
- favourites tracking system
Overall, the site is a great example of what can be achieved using DotNetNuke and a good design and development team :)
